Post- production

All our footage looks good we have now completed all 3 shoots and have more then enough footage that will work. We have 3 weeks to the production deadline and we are confident that we will meet this. We are splitting the tasks up between us and hopefully this will work well so that we complete each task easily and make it all look as professional as possible

Shots for website

Me and Ciara worked on editing some individual shots we got from saturdays shoot for the website. I used a website called http://www.pixlr.com/editor/  and first of all used turn down the saturation so the colour wasn't as bright and then brightened it slightly. Then I used a effect called cross process and then I warmed it up and constrasted it slightly. These are how the pictures looked before and after..

Shoot 3

So we've now had our third and final shoot which went really well and we used the most amazing house- Lordship Park. Everyone arrived on time for a days shoot which we managed to finish well before we thought we would and we got everything we wanted and more!

The first part of the day was dedicated to the photos that we needed for out ancillary products. With the help of ezra's camera we were able to get really high quality shots. Some shots that we planned didnt work as well therfore we got lots of different group and individual shots that allowed us to pick and choose our favourite when we got back to our edit suite (and with over 400 we really weren't short!!)

The seond half of the day consisted of getting more performance for the music video. We worked really hard as a group. As hugh was obviously performing in the band we allowed him to take shots when he was not in them and the rest was done by myself, Tom and Jess. As a group we would set up each shot we would make sure lighting, composition and location worked well for what we wanted. As a team we would sorted through any disagreements and we were all very happy with the shots that we got.

We owe a big thank you to the boys that made up the band, they worked so hard for all shoots, they responded and helped with whatever we wanted to do and they also gave their indivindual input which made the shots we got very natural and they look so good.

Shoot 2 Reflections

Yesterday was our second shoot. We knew that we had quite a lot missing from our initial shoot, primarily close ups of the band members, so we focused on that. This was done by running through the entire song for each member and shooting them in close up, as well as some close ups of the dance routine. We set up the lights in the same way as the first shoot, but tried to use the hazer more becuase we thought that it looked much better. We all agree that we got everything we needed from the shoot, and are happy with the results.

Shot List

This is the shot list that we are usuing on our shoots to make sure we get everything done.

Shot List

Detailed Lyric Anaylsis

We have done a break down of our lyrics and the timing of the lines and words which will help us out a lot when we are shooting. This helps us know the shots we need and the order in which they need to be put in.

Actor Contract

This is the contract we got all 5 actors to sign so that they knew what this project was about and we had a mutual agreement with all our actors and group.

Tuesday 2nd November - Shoot One

Yesterday we had our first shoot in the seward studio, it began at 3.45 and we went on till 7.00. We had originally planned to use this as a dress rehearsal, however as the boys were able to set up everything early we were able to get things started quicker then expected.

We firstly sorted out the costumes that each band member would wear. Each boy tried on different outifts and looks and as a group we decided what we liked and what we didn't. Our colour scheme worked well and we thought the styling really worked. We put stage makeup on the boys so they looked good in front of the lights and we also styled their hair to look like a boyband.

We all took turns using the camera as Jess and I were less experienced with the camera it took us a little bit longer to work it out but we eventually were able to shoot some footage. The lights were set up well with main lights being put behind to stop the curtains being obvious. We used blue filters to match our colour scheme which worked really well. We also used the fan and haze machine to create a smokey effect which looked good on the camera. However as we left the haze machine on a little bit too long, we set off the schools fire alarm! However the caretaker helped us out and overall it was a successful shoot.
